Locking our church doors
25th March 2020 is a momentous day. The Revd David writes: "Dear all, As you will be aware by now the Church of England has closed all its churches until we are advised otherwise. A conversation with the Archdeacon this afternoon makes it clear that all churches are to be locked to prevent access. A churchwarden or other authorised person may make a regular visit during the closure (no more than one a week) to check on the fabric of the church. Clergy are not permitted into the church buildings. Rev'd Arthur has already affixed closure notices to the doors of our northern churches and I will do the same for our southern ones tomorrow."
Here's a few pictures from the Northern end.
Adrian Hill has commented: "Such sad news but the power of prayer transcends locked doors". He may have been thinking of Acts 12: 1-19 which is well worth re-reading!
