Advent Journey at Stratton

The Revd Jan Moore dedicates the advent figures as they set out from home to home heading towards Christmas Day. Would you like to be a part of the Advent Journey? As many readers will be aware, Stratton is fortunate to have a beautiful set of figures of Mary, Joseph and their donkey made for us by Chris and Ron Rodgers and, every Advent, they travel around homes and local organisations. This year we are planning to continue this much-loved tradition with the figures setting out on Advent Sunday from the Benefice Service at Rendcomb and returning to St Peter’s, Stratton, on Christmas Eve.   As a host, you will welcome the figures into your home. After a rest of a few days, you become the traveller taking Mary and Joseph with the donkey, onto the next host. Everyone is very welcome to join in, and we will be taking and recommending certain precautions to make this a Covid-safe journey for all those taking part! I will co-ordinate the journey - facilitating the safe transfer of the family between households and other places they will be resting. If you would like to be a part of the 2020 journey please let me have your name by 15th November, to give us enough time to make a good journey plan. Thank you all very much.
